Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental condition with difficulty in
- Social Skills and communication
- Behavioural Issues
- Sensory Deficits
ASD is on the rise in India with recent estimates being as high as 1 in 88 children Resources to help these children are very few and very expensive
Sulabha Centre for Autism has been started with following aims:
- To provide children with Autism a safe and structured area for their all round development.
- To provide various therapies for their learning and behaviour
- To develop skills that can help in their vocation
- To increase awareness in the community
- To include children with Autism in the mainstream community
The various therapies provided are:
- Occupational therapy
- Speech therapy
- Remedial education
- Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)
- Parental counseling
“WORLD AUTISM AWARENESS DAY 2023” was celebrated by “SULABHA CENTRE FOR AUTISM” on Monday 3rd April 2023 in the School Hall. These special children with their parents performed Dance which was appreciated by one and all. All the children were given special gifts.
President Senior Psychiatrist Dr. Manilal Gada gave welcome speech. Chief Guest was Dr. Shobha Shivramkrishnan Developmental Neurologist from England. She appreciated the efforts of the Centre and praised the work done by the therapists of the center. Mrs. Jayashree Jambhekar, Founder Trustee greeted Dr. Shobha with flowers and articles made by divyang children of Sulabha Special School. Joint Secretary Mrs. Nandana Bhatavadekar proposed Vote of Thanks.
