Highlights of the year 2015-16

  • Sulabha special school won the rotating trophy for the 13th time for indoor sports and games from inner wheel club of north island on 27 January 2016.
     
  • One of Sulabha Special School’s student Ms. Sumaiyya Rashid Khan; won the Third prize on Computer Skills at the state level on 9th February 2016 at Bal kaklyan Sanstha, Pune.
     
  • Mrs. Sulabha Karunanidhi Special Teacher, was felicitated at the tamils welfare foundation of Maharashtra at the hands of the Honorable Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Shri Devendra Phadnavis on 25 January 2016 for excellence in the field of special education.
     
  • Mrs. Pallavi Gurav Special Teacher, received ‘Amazing Teacher Award’ from hi-tech family Enrichment foundation on 14th January 2016.
     
  • Mrs. Sulabha Karunanidhi, Special Teacher, on invitation from organizers, presented paper on “Skills for adolescence” at 1st International Conference on Special education from 27th to 30th July, 2015 bangkok, Thailand.
     
  • Mrs. Anuradha Jatat, Headmistress and Mrs. Sulabha Karunanidhi Special Teacher, attended the First International Conference on special education from 27 to 30 July 2015 at Bangkok, Thailand.
     
  • The sulabha Garden was renovated by Lions Club of Bombay Uptown under the leadership of presided Lion Chetan Mehta. It was inaugurated on 1st December 2015 by Lions District 323A2 Governor Lion Nitin Shetty.
     
  • Manoj Gole, Ex-trainee of Deepalkumar Lalji Chheda Sulabha Vocational Training Centre, Works in Mani Supermarket since last one year. He was awarded as Best employee Late Shri Bhikubhai C. Shah Memorial Award’ from society for the vocational rehabilitation of retarded, Tardeo on 19th December 2015.

Highlights of the year 2016-17

  • Sulabha special school has won the Best School Trophy in the indoor sports and games from inner wheel club of north island for the 14th time on 20.01.2017.
     
  • Sulabha special school won Runners up trophy in march past at interschool athletic Meet on 03.12.2016, organized by asst. Commissioner of Disabilities, Mumbai suburban.
     
  • Products made by students of prevocational group of school and vocational training centre were sold online through the website www.benefitsquare.com
     
  • A classroom was equipped with Audio Visual equipment ( Digital Room) through corporate social Responsibility project of ThyssenKrupp Industrial Solutions.
     
  • Ms. Renuka Kamble received ‘Achiever’s Award’ From Cerebral Palsy Association of India on 6-10-2016.
     
  • Mr. Vijay Kale received the ‘Late Shri Bhikubhai C. Shah Memorial Award 2016’ for the outstanding employee from Swami Vivekanand Rehabilitation Centre for the Retarted,  Tardeo on 13-12-2016.
     
  • Ms. Afrin Ansari won a Silver medal in National Games in Badminton at Kerala in August 2016.
     
  • Ritesh Khaire received 3rd place as Maharashtra Boys Team in Natioanl Games of Basketball organized by Special Olympics Bharat at Chennai in july 2016.
     
  • Deepika Katalkar received 4th Place as Maharashtra Girls team in National Games of Basketball  organized by Special Olympics Bharat at Chennai in July 2016.
     
  • Rahul Naliaraman and Sanket Kadam received silver & bronze medals respectively at National Games of Athletics at Hyderabad in October 2016.
     
  • 6 students and 2 teachers attended an Overnight Adventure Camp with regular school students at Lonavala on 5-11-2016 & 6-11-2016 organized by Vanarai Giriraj Trekkers ( Siemens Union).
     
  • Trainee Harsh Sanghavi received an award from Pragati Kendera, Matunga on 18.02.2017 for being self-reliant in the society.

Highlights of the year 2017-18

  • The school won best school trophy from inner wheel club of North Island for 16th time for Indoor Sports and games.
     
  • Three students who had appeared for Pratham Open Basic Education Level A and B successfully passed their exams.
     
  • Hospitality Assistant Training for students of our schools was held from June to August 2017 in collaboration with La Monnaine Skills and Save the children, India. All the 8 students cleared the exam under the skill development ministry.
     
  • The internal re-plastering and painting work of the school and Deepak Kumar Lalji Chheda Sulabha Vocational Training Center was done through corporate social responsibility (CSR) of DHL Service, India.
     
  • Programme on self-advocacy training was held for parents, Students and for Teachers on 25 and 26 March 2018 in collaboration with Parivaar and Christian blind mission.
     
  • Students participated in National games of special Olympics in Netball, Handball, Roller skating and Badminton.
     
  • 8 students were felicitated by life Insurance Corporation Ghatkopar Branch for their good performance on 13th September 2017.
