Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental condition with difficulty in

  • Social Skills and communication
  • Behavioural Issues
  • Sensory Deficits

ASD is on the rise in India with recent estimates being as high as 1 in 88 children Resources to help these children are very few and very expensive


Sulabha Centre for Autism has been started with following aims:

  • To provide children with Autism a safe and structured area for their all round development.
  • To provide various therapies for their learning and behaviour
  • To develop skills that can help in their vocation
  • To increase awareness in the community
  • To include children with Autism in the mainstream community

The various therapies provided are:

  • Occupational therapy
  • Speech therapy
  • Remedial education
  • Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)
  • Parental counseling

 

 

CME on AUTISM

 7th April 2024

 

On occasion of WORLD AUTISM  MONTH 2024,   Sulabha Centre for Autism- Sulabha Special School, jointly with IMA NEBS (Ghatkopar)  Branch organised  "CME on  AUTISM" Seminar at Sulabha Centre for Autism - Sulabha Special School   on 7th April 2024, Sunday from 10.00 am to 1.30 pm

  President Dr Manilal GADA jointly with IMA president Dr Ganpat Sawant inaugurated CME by doing Pooja of GUDDI for auspicious begging.

  Dr. Manilal Gada  welcomed delegates 

  Dr. Dipti Shah M.D. (Gold Medal)  Psychiatrist informed about importance of Autism Month.

  Dr Alka Subramaniam Psychiatrist talked about recent changes in Diagnosis of Autism

  Dr Dipti Shah Psychiatrist talked about symptoms, signs, diagnosis by illustrative case studies.

  Dr Sheryl John Psychiatrist talked about recent advances in treatments.

  Dr Varsha Shelar talked about role of Occupational Therapy

  Dr Shruti Phale talked about Speech Therapy   

  All Speakers gave their talk by Audio-Visual presentation.

 This was followed by Question Answer session which lasted for about one hour 

 CME was followed by Lunch

 ALL doctors were very happy to attend CME on a Sunday morning

 More than 70 doctors attended

 

 WORLD AUTISM DAY 2nd_ April

 

On occasion of WORLD AUTISM DAY 2nd April 2024,   Sulabha Centre for Autism-    Conducted Autism Awareness Program at Sulabha Centre for Autism - Sulabha Special School  from 10.00 am to 12.30 pm

 President Dr. Manilal Gada  welcomed participants and talked about importance of World Autism Day

 Dr. Dipti Shah M.D.   Psychiatrist   talked about Autism Disorder and early diagnosis. She also illustrated importance of awareness and what each   person can do for Creating awareness particularly on Social media.

 Each parent along with their child had to prepare posters with slogan about  Autism awareness. The posters were displayed.

 Each child was given gift. Parents with their child performed dance

 

 

“WORLD AUTISM AWARENESS DAY 2023” was celebrated by “SULABHA CENTRE FOR AUTISM” on Monday 3rd April 2023 in the School Hall. These special children with their parents performed Dance which was appreciated by one and all. All the children were given special gifts.

President Senior Psychiatrist Dr. Manilal Gada gave welcome speech. Chief Guest was Dr. Shobha Shivramkrishnan Developmental Neurologist from England. She appreciated the efforts of the Centre and praised the work done by the therapists of the center. Mrs. Jayashree Jambhekar, Founder Trustee greeted Dr. Shobha with flowers and articles made by divyang children of Sulabha Special School. Joint Secretary Mrs. Nandana Bhatavadekar proposed Vote of Thanks.
